Born in 1980's South Africa.
My work has been intimately connected to the political an social movements of my country. In contrast a large part of my art is not concerned with the social or political, but on the human experience, beauty, expression, the mystery of consciousness. I am also a traditionalist, studying the old masters and classical works only to later mix these traditions with modern approaches. My love of comic art, pop art and graffito runs alongside my love of traditionalism and classical standards of beauty.
Working in painting, drawing and sculpture the mediums I use range from charcoal, oil paint to gold leaf. I first started in Stellenbosch and traveled to Europe and Africa showing my work. Residency's in Holland and Cyprus has informed my practice. Locally I have been featured in the top artist competitions in South Africa, working with gallery's in Cape Town ,Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
I hope you find a piece that speaking to you.
